Anchorpoint is a joint venture between Standard Chartered and Animoca Brands, and Standard Chartered leads it. The venture had said retail users could get its stablecoin as early as the end of 2026. Its CEO has now declined to repeat that timeline, according to a Cointelegraph report published on Oct 26, 2026.
The report says Anchorpoint is not rushing a retail launch. The CEO did not confirm the end-2026 target, and the report gives no new date to replace it.
Several things are not yet known. The report does not say when retail users will be able to access the stablecoin, and it does not say why the earlier timeline is no longer being confirmed.
For someone already holding a perpetual position on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX, this changes nothing directly. No stablecoin has launched, so nothing new is available as margin or settlement, and nothing in the report affects funding rates, trading fees or liquidity on these venues today.
