141% Jump: Canada Sends $2.36B in Crypto to India, China, Philippines

2026-10-14

Crypto transfers of remittance size from Canada to India, China and the Philippines reached $2.36 billion, a 141% increase from a year earlier. The figures come from Chainalysis and were reported by Cointelegraph on Oct 14, 2026.

The Philippines is the only country with its own figure in the report. Transfers from Canada to the Philippines grew 28% to $61 million. That is much slower than the 141% growth for all three countries combined.

The report gives no separate totals for India or China. It also does not say which coins or tokens were sent, or how many transfers there were. Those details are not known from this report.

For someone already holding a perpetual position on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX, this changes nothing directly. The data covers money sent from one country to another, not derivatives trading. The report does not mention funding rates, trading fees or order-book liquidity, so there is nothing in it to measure against the cost of holding a perp.
