Investors took $549 million more out of US spot Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded funds than they put in last week. Cointelegraph reported the figure on Oct 19, 2026, in a story by staff writer Helen Partz, edited by Yohan Yun.
Ether funds are having the worse month. Their net outflows for October so far are about $955 million, close to $1 billion with the month not yet over. Bitcoin funds have now had net withdrawals for two weeks in a row.
The report as we have it does not split the $549 million between Bitcoin and Ether funds. It does not name the funds that lost the most, and it does not say why investors are withdrawing. When the story was published, the source page listed Bitcoin at $82,830.44 and Ether at $2,433.67.
For someone already holding a perpetual position on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX, this changes nothing directly. ETF flows happen in a separate market. Perpetual funding rates are set on each exchange from the gap between the perp price and its index, and trading fees follow each exchange's own fee schedule. This report does not touch either one.
