Bitcoin rose 42.71% in the third quarter of 2026. According to Cointelegraph, no third quarter since 2017 has been better for the price.
Over the same three months, US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds took in about $6.34 billion more than they paid out. No other quarter of 2026 has brought these funds more net money.
The quarter came after a first half in which Bitcoin was weaker, and the price recovered in Q3. The report, by staff writer Helen Partz and published on October 1, 2026, does not say which funds took in the most money. It also does not say how the inflows were spread across the quarter, or whether the ETF buying caused the price rise.
If you already hold a perpetual on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX, this story changes nothing directly. It covers spot ETF flows and the quarterly price. It has no figures on funding rates, trading fees or perpetual liquidity on any exchange. Your holding cost still depends on the funding rate each exchange charges, and the report has no information about that.
