CoinMarketCap Just Bought CoinGlass. What Changes for

2026-09-25

CoinMarketCap has bought CoinGlass, a platform that publishes data on crypto derivatives. Cointelegraph reported the deal on September 25, 2026. CoinMarketCap did not say how much it paid.

CoinMarketCap says the purchase gives it more data on leveraged trading across major exchanges. CoinGlass focuses on derivatives, so the deal adds that area to CoinMarketCap's coverage.

According to the report, users of CoinGlass should see no immediate change. The brand and the team stay. The website, the app, the free tools, the API and the pricing also stay as they are.

Several things have not been made public: the price, the other terms of the deal, and whether CoinGlass data will later be merged into CoinMarketCap's own pages. The report does not say whether the unchanged pricing and free tools are a permanent commitment or only apply for now.

For anyone already holding a perpetual position on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX, this changes nothing directly. The deal is between two data companies. Neither one sets funding rates, trading fees or liquidity on those exchanges, so the cost of keeping a position open is the same as it was before the announcement.
