US spot Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded funds have recorded close to $1 billion in combined net outflows so far in October, Cointelegraph reported on Oct 9, 2026. The report says this is net money leaving the funds, not money coming in.
Spot Bitcoin ETFs had $244 million in outflows on Thursday. Ether funds had outflows for an eighth session in a row, and the report puts their losses at $641 million.
The report does not say which funds had the largest withdrawals or why investors pulled money out. It also does not say whether the outflows will continue.
For someone already holding a perpetual position on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX, this news changes nothing directly. ETF flows are money moving in and out of US spot funds. They do not set perpetual funding rates, trading fees or order book depth on those exchanges, and the report contains no data on any of the three.
