Kalshi Eyes $40B as Crypto Treasury Firms Struggle to Keep Premiums

2026-10-02

Crypto companies are raising large sums of money again. A Cointelegraph report by Sam Bourgi, published on October 2, 2026, says investors are no longer paying a premium for every company that asks.

Kalshi is the clearest example of a company that is still getting a premium. It is reportedly trying to raise $1 billion at a $40 billion valuation. That is close to double what the company was worth in May.

Blockchain.com is aiming for an IPO. Crypto treasury companies, which once had high valuations, are having trouble keeping them. The report does not say how far their valuations have fallen or which treasury companies are affected.

For someone already holding a perpetual position on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX, this story changes nothing directly. The report says nothing about funding rates, trading fees or liquidity on any exchange. It is about company fundraising and valuations, not about the cost of holding a position.
