Kevin Lee, chief strategy officer at BingX, says wealthy investors he calls "old money" hold Bitcoin with a longer time horizon than many traders who came up inside crypto. Cointelegraph reported his remarks on Oct. 7, 2026.
Lee splits Bitcoin holders into two groups: established wealth on one side and crypto-native traders on the other. In his view, the first group is the more patient one. He also said family offices still have only limited exposure to crypto.
The report gives no figures to support the comparison. It does not say how much these investors hold, how long they keep their positions, or which investors he means. For now, this is one exchange executive's view, not measured data.
For anyone already holding a perpetual position on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX, the remarks change nothing directly. Lee's comments are about who holds Bitcoin and for how long. They say nothing about perpetual futures, funding rates, trading fees or order-book liquidity, and BingX is not one of the four exchanges this site tracks.
