Polymarket, a prediction market platform, has started rolling out Protocol V2, a rebuild of its smart contract infrastructure. Cointelegraph reported the rollout on Oct 6, 2026.
New prediction markets are planned to move to the new system in November. Positions that already exist will remain on the current system.
According to the report, the rebuild is meant to prepare the platform for new market features. It could also let Polymarket expand beyond Polygon, the network it uses now. The report does not say which features are coming, which other networks are being considered or when any expansion would happen.
This has no direct effect on anyone holding a perpetual futures position on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX. The report mentions no exchange, no perpetual contract, no token and no change to funding rates, fees or liquidity. For now, it is a change inside Polymarket's own platform.
