SBF Still in Prison, Ellison Free: Netflix Drops FTX Trailer

2026-10-08

Netflix has released a trailer for a series based on Sam Bankman-Fried and Caroline Ellison, two central figures in the FTX story. Cointelegraph reported the news on October 8, 2026, in an article by staff writer Turner Wright, edited by Sam Bourgi.

The two people at the center of the series are now in very different places. Bankman-Fried is still in federal prison after his conviction in 2023. Ellison was released in January.

The report does not give the series title, a release date, the cast or the number of episodes. It also does not say whether Bankman-Fried or Ellison took part in the production or has commented on it.

For someone already holding a perpetual position on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX, this changes nothing directly. A trailer for a TV series does not change funding rates, trading fees or order book liquidity on any of these exchanges, and the report links it to none of them.
