Tether and Alibaba Now Both Back AIsa as Funding Tops $9M

2026-10-18

AIsa says it has closed a seed extension round, and Tether is one of two new strategic investors in it. The other is HIVEN. With this round, AIsa's total funding is now more than $9 million. Cointelegraph reported the news on Oct 18, 2026.

Tether and HIVEN join a group of existing backers that includes Alibaba, Tribe Capital, Sumitomo Corporation, Draper Associates and Saison Capital. AIsa says there are other investors as well, but it did not name them.

The report leaves several things out. It does not say how much the extension raised, how much Tether put in, or what Tether's stake is. It also does not explain what AIsa builds or what the strategic investors will do for the company.

If you already hold a perpetual position on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX, this changes nothing directly. The story is about a private funding round. It does not mention any exchange, any change to funding rates or trading fees, or any effect on market liquidity.
