Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission finalized rules on Thursday that let crypto exchange-traded funds list on the country's main stock exchange. At the start, the rules cover only two assets: Bitcoin and Ether. No other coin is included in this first step.
The rules are due to take effect next week. Under them, crypto ETFs can trade only on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, not on any other venue. The report was published on Oct. 9, 2026, and the full effective date was cut off in the text available to us.
Several things are not yet known from the report. It does not name any fund that has applied or plans to list, and it does not say when the first ETF might begin trading. It also does not say whether other coins could be added later.
For someone already holding a perpetual position on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX, this changes nothing directly. The rules are not yet in force, no Thai ETF is trading, and the report says nothing about perpetual futures, funding rates, trading fees or exchange liquidity. Funding and fees on those four exchanges are set by their own markets and fee schedules, which this news does not touch.
