Tether recorded $1.5 billion in operating earnings for the third quarter of 2026. During this same period, the stablecoin firm expanded its surplus capital reserves to $7.95 billion, roughly doubling its previous figure.
The financial metrics were published alongside an attestation report completed by BDO, an independent accounting firm. In addition to its operational profits, Tether held $8.37 billion in Bitcoin reserves by the close of September.
The company's U.S. Treasury note holdings have reached levels that match those of major foreign national holders. At the time of reporting, Bitcoin traded at $77,369.07, while Ethereum stood at $2,247.71.
For traders holding active perpetual swap positions across Bitget, Bybit, MEXC, or OKX, these figures change nothing directly about ongoing funding rates or exchange execution fees. The balance sheet figures confirm backing details for the issuer, but they do not alter immediate contract liquidity or leverage costs for derivative holders.
