DATA Network plans to shut down its own independent blockchain and move its protocol to Sui. Sui Foundation is putting $30 million into the project to support the move. Cointelegraph reported the plan on Oct 12, 2026.
DATA Network used to be called Story. Its protocol deals with data used to train AI. After the move, that protocol would run on Sui instead of on DATA Network's own chain.
The report gives no date for the migration and no schedule for closing the old chain. It also does not say what happens to any token, to existing users, or to the projects built on the current chain. It does not describe the terms of the $30 million investment beyond who is providing it.
For anyone already holding a perpetual futures position, nothing changes directly yet. The report names no token and mentions no exchange, so it gives no information about funding rates, fees or liquidity for contracts on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX. If an exchange announces a change to a related contract, that would be the point where costs could be affected.
