Hashi, a Bitcoin finance network built by Mysten Labs, has more than $500 million in capital commitments from its launch partners before its mainnet goes live. The Sui Foundation announced the figure on Thursday. Cointelegraph reported it on Oct 8, 2026.
Hashi lets Bitcoin serve as collateral inside applications on Sui. A user deposits BTC, and hBTC is minted on Sui against that deposit. The rollout starts in October and will happen in phases.
The report also says Anchorage offers institutions settlement and self-custody in connection with Hashi. The source does not name the launch partners or split the $500 million among them. It also does not say what each phase includes or when each one starts.
For someone already holding a perpetual position on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX, this changes nothing directly. The report mentions no exchange, funding rate, trading fee or perpetual market. A $500 million figure is in commitments, not BTC already deposited, and nothing in the story shows any effect on what it costs to hold a BTC perp today.
