Starknet, a layer-2 network built on Ethereum, has launched a privacy feature called Shadow Accounts. Cointelegraph reported it on Oct 14, 2026. The feature lets users work with decentralized finance (DeFi) apps without that activity being publicly tied to their main wallet.
The privacy only goes so far. The transactions are still recorded and visible onchain. What Shadow Accounts hide is the public link between a user's main wallet and what that user does in DeFi.
The report does not say how Shadow Accounts work under the hood. It also does not say which DeFi apps support them or whether they cost anything to use. Those details are not yet known from this source.
For anyone already holding a perpetual position on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX, this changes nothing directly. The report does not mention any of these exchanges or perpetual futures at all. Funding rates, trading fees and order-book liquidity on those venues are not affected by anything described here.
