Bitcoin traded around $77,000 on Friday as US stocks fell. Gold also dropped, to its lowest price in a year. Cointelegraph, in a report published Oct 30, 2026, says Bitcoin now risks its worst October in 12 years.
When Wall Street opened on Friday, BTC was still under $80,000. The report says fears about AI came back and pushed a wider sell-off in risk assets. According to TradingView data, BTC/USD was down 1.1% on the day, after hitting its lowest level since September.
The report ties the crypto drop to the stock market, and it notes that gold, often treated as a safe asset, fell in the same period. Bitcoin was quoted at $77,317.30 when the page was published. The report does not give a final figure for October, because the month was not over.
For anyone already holding a perpetual position on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX, this report changes nothing directly. It has no data on funding rates, trading fees or order-book liquidity on any exchange. A lower price changes how far a position is from its liquidation level, but the cost of holding it is set by each exchange's funding rate, and that rate has to be checked on the exchange itself.
