175M Merchants: Visa and Mesh Bypass Cards for Direct Wallet Spending

2026-10-20

On October 19, 2026, payment giant Visa joined forces with crypto network Mesh to link digital asset wallets straight into Visa's global network. The alliance gives consumers the ability to pay with cryptocurrency and stablecoin balances at 175 million commercial outlets globally.

Under the new system, users can complete purchases directly from their existing digital wallets without applying for or carrying a separate payment card. Alongside the update, key asset prices were recorded including Bitcoin at $81,774.00, Ethereum at $2,401.60, and Solana at $104.73.

For derivative traders holding active perpetual futures on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC, or OKX, this integration changes nothing directly regarding funding rates, leverage costs, or venue liquidity. While expanding retail utility for spot wallet balances, the payment processing update leaves exchange-based perpetual positions and holding fees entirely untouched.
