Wall Street vs Crypto: Binance Buying $100M Circle Stake

2026-09-25

Binance is buying a $100 million stake in Circle. Cointelegraph reported the deal on September 25, 2026, alongside two other moves that bring traditional finance and crypto companies into the same markets.

Canada's six largest banks are looking into tokenized deposits. The New York Stock Exchange is working with Blockchain.com to put US stocks and ETFs onchain.

The report describes banks, exchanges and crypto firms now competing in the same areas: payments, stocks and ETFs. Stablecoins and tokenized assets are what brought them there. The report does not give timelines, deal terms beyond the $100 million figure, or launch dates for any of these projects.

For anyone already holding a perpetual position on Bitget, Bybit, MEXC or OKX, nothing changes directly. None of the announcements involve those four exchanges or perpetual futures, and nothing in the report affects funding rates, trading fees or liquidity on them. Whether tokenized stocks or ETFs ever reach perpetual markets is not known from this story.
